We will be going through an organization called "Group Workcamps Foundation" and we will be attending their "Week of Hope - Service and Outreach Camp" www.groupworkcamps.com
Where: Cincinnati Ohio
When: July 15-20 (Sunday - Friday)
Who: Anyone currently in 7th-12th grade
Adult Chaperones: Chris Marquart, Jean Webb and Debbie Briggs
Overview of the trip:
We will travel all day on Sunday to Cincinnati. Sunday evening we will check in and there will be an opening program. Our church will be assigned 2 sleeping rooms (one for girls and one for boys). Be sure to bring an air matress because we will be sleeping on hard floors. Our church group will be split up into work crews (this is where you will have the opportunity to meet youth from other churches and make new friends). Monday through Thursday you will set out for the day to do service projects in the community with your work crew (you will take a sack lunch with you). We will not know what kind of projects we will be doing until we get there (examples - clean up a city park, deliver meals on wheels, help at a day care center for children, organize food at a food bank, visit residents in a nursing home). Each evening we will have dinner together and participate in a special service of worship. There will be upbeat praise music, motivational speakers, and meaningful messages. Friday morning will be an emotional time as we say good bye to the new frineds we have made and close this incredible mission trip. We will return home late Friday evening.
Cost:
Total cost per youth $470 (includes travel, lodging, programs, most meals)
Church will pay $220 for each youth
Families will pay $250 for each youth
$20 deposit is due ASAP
